Power Up at the Parks
During my graphic design internship with the Town of Normal, I designed this multi-channel promotional campaign for the Parks & Recreation department to celebrate Park & Recreation Month. Inspired by retro 8-bit video games, the creative direction uses playful pixel art and classic arcade typography to gamify the local outdoor experience. By framing community parks as interactive "game levels," the campaign visually motivates residents to complete challenges, track clues, and explore nature.
The layout adapts seamlessly across print and digital mediums. Pixelated characters and structured UI asset blocks ensure cohesive brand recognition, whether viewed on a mobile screen or encountered physically as a community flyer.
